RUSSIANS IN LONDON.
REWARD FOR WORKERS. GIVEN A MONTH'S TOUR. LUXURIOUS ACCOMMODATION. United Press Assn.—Elec. Tel. Copyright. LONDON, August 11. More than 350 Soviet workers, who were selected for conspicuous service on behalf of the five years plan, reached London to-day, in pouring rain, on board the Russian steamer Ukraine.
Pretty girls, broad-shouldered, with tanned complexions, and wearing overalls and berets, mixed with bearded men, fresh-faced youths, stout elderly ladies, and plain young women in homespun and Russian boots. All shared two qualifications—none has outside Russia previously, and all represent the cream of Russia's “economic warriors."
They are making a month's tour, as a reward for service, and will visit, in addition to London, Genoa and Constantinople. They will not visit hotels, but are living on board the steamer during the whole voyage, In accommodation which rivals that on the crack Atlantic liners.
