THEFT BY ACCOUNTANT.

A PLEA OF GUILTY. ATTEMPTED SUICIDE. AUCKLAND, Tuesday. In the Police Court yesterday an accountant, John Hair Masters, aged 49, pleaded guilty to two charges of stealing sums totalling £3O 13s 4d the property of his former employers, J. Wildridge and Sinclair (New Zealand) Ltd. In committing Masters to the Supreme Court for sentence, the Magistrate, Mr F. K. Hunt, made reference ■lo accused's good record in the past. An offer of bail was not taken advantage of by accused. A charge of attempting to commit suicide was also admitted by Masters. He was ordered to come up for sentence if called upon within six months.
