CHAMBER OF COMMERCE

EXECUTIVE MEETING. At an executive meeting of the Hamilton Chamber of Commerce last evening Mr D. Seymour presided. Also present were Messrs A. M. Bisley, F. H. Clapham, A. E. Sandford, W. Seavill, E. V. Stace, R. Mcßae, and G. S. Crimp (hon. secretary). The secretary reported having arranged with the Canterbury chamber of Commerce for supplies of their monthly bulletins. These will be distributed among members of the Chamber.

Mr Sandford reported having arranged with Mr H. T. Merritt, the president of the Associated Chambers, to give a talk at the Luncheon Club in Hamilton. The date has not been decided, but it will be early next month. It was decided that while Mr Merritt was in Hamilton the Chamber should discuss the work and ilnances of the Associated Chambers. Tiie location of the next conference of Chambers, which was to have been held at The Chateau, may have to bo reviewed, and the Chamber decided to forward the claims of Hamilton, with a view lo holding I lie conference here.

It was decided lo hold a general meeting on Tuesday, the subject for discussion being the protective duties in general, with particular reference or wheat duties. Members- of the Chamber are invited Lo bring their friends.
