INTERESTING DISCOVERY,

CROCODILE GOD’S TEMPLE. UNEARTHED IN EGYPT. (Times Cable.) LONDON, February 18. The Cairo correspondent says for the first time in the history of Egyptian excavation a complete sanctuary of the Crocodile God, Sokofls, has been discovered. An alien archaeological expedition unearthed the temple of Tebtiris in the Fayum district, which will enable the reconstruction of the weird practices of this strange cult, which Greek and Roman tourists paid special visits to observe. The expedition found a paved court flanked by four buildings, probably chambers, wherein the priests awaited divine inspiration, which was the main concern of the crocodile god's servants. The entrances are decorated with statues of li-ons and sphinxes. At the end of the second way is I lie main limestone temple, the portals of which are flanked with statues of Pharoah and a sleeping lion. The walls are copiously adorned with paintings and sunk reliefs.
