THE ANNUAL CONFERENCE. ' ELECTION OF OFFICERS. (By Telegraph.—rress Association.) DUNED.IN, Thursday. The annual conference of the Methodist Church of New Zealand was opened this evening. In the absence of the Rev. W. Greenslade through illness, the Rev. E. D. Patchett, of Wellington, was elected president. Referring to Church union, Mp Patchett said all barriers, and they were but flimsy barriers to-day, were ready to break down before the touch of the finger of love. A resolution of sympathy was passed with earthquake sufferers, and especially with the Roman Catholic Church in the deaths of priests and students at Greenmeadows. The election of officers resulted: —President foi' 1932. Rev. M. A. Rugby Pratt (Christchurch); vicepresident. for 1031, Mr W. S. Mackay (Auckland) ; secretary for 1932, Rev. J. H. Ha slam (Auckland).
