TAURANCA TOURNAMENT ! ‘ PLAY IN FIRST ROUND, i - HAMILTON RINK COMPETING, (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) TAURANGA, Tuesday. The twelfth annual tournament oi the Tauranga Bowling Club opened this morning. The president, Mr. L. G. Morris, welcomed the visitors, and Mr. Pascoe, representing the Auckland Centre, replied on behalf of ihe visitors. The tournament is being played in two sections, nine teams in each. Results:— Section 1. Second Round. —Tauranga (Lewis) 20, v. Rotorua (Bertram) 17; Auckland Executive 23, v. Devonport 14; Te Puke 14, v. Hamilton (Pilkington) 12; Frankton 20, v. The champion of champion singles competition will commence on Saturday with series at Matamata, Whittora, Ngaruawahia and Otorohanga. The draw for Saturday is as follows: Section A. Group 1, at Matamata. Okoroire v. Matamata; Putaruru v. Tirau. Group 2, at Whitiora. —Frankton Junction v. Frankton 'Railway; Morrinsvi.le v. Hamilton East. The winners of the respective groups will meet at Lambridge. ou February 28. Section B. Group 3, at Ngaruawahia.—Huntly v. Ngaruawahia; Glen Massey v. Taupiri. Group 4, at Otorohanga.—Te Awamutu, Otorohanga and Te Kuiti; players will draw for the ibye on the green. Winners of the respective groups will play off on the Frankton Junction green on February 28.
