GANDHI’S DESIRES. OPEN MIND PRESENTED. United Press Assn. —Elec. Tel. Copyright. DELHI, Feb. 17. Lord Irwin, Viceroy of India, has consented to meet the Indian Nationalist leader Gandhi, who left Allahabad last night for Delhi, where the two will discuss the issues raised in the declaration of the British Prime Minister at the Round-table Conference. In a letter to the Viceroy Gandhi said lie possessed an open mind, but desired to share with the delegates to llio conference their hopes for the future. He said lie was anxious to secure further enlightenment from the Viceroy in person. LONDON, Feb. 17. The Daily Herald describes as nonsense a report from Delhi that the Secretary of State of India, Mr Wedgwood Benn, and the Secretary of State for the Dominions, Mr J. H. Thomas, are to go to India in connection with the working out of a constitution based on the report of the Roundtable Conference.
