The death has occurred at the Royal Air Force College, Cranwell, England, of Arthur Alorland ActonAdams, aged 21. He was a pupil at Hie college and was killed in a flying accident. Air AcLon-Adams’ family live at Clarence Reserve, Atariborough.

Air Hugh Morrison, Conservative member of the House of Commons for Salisbury, Wiltshire, lias resigned his seat owing to ill-health. Conservative, Liberal and Labour candidates will contest Hie seat. Six by-elections are now pending owing to recent resignations and deaths.

Dr. C. T. Alagiiiro, medical superintendent at I lie Auckland Hospital for twenty years, has been afflicted by serious eye trouble; and yesterday he was granted a year’s leave, during which lie will visit England. The board members expressed Hie utmost sympathy with Dr. .Maguire, and eulogised his services. An actingsuperintendent will be appointed and the whole position reviewed in a year.
