HOMING PIGEONS.
HAMILTON CLUB’S RACE. The Hamilton Homing Club flew a race on Saturday from Wellington, an airline distance of 244 miles. Fiftyseven -entries were received, and the birds were liberated by. Mr Thomas, an official of the Wellington Club, at 8.21 a.m. The winning bird homed at 2.46 p.m. Velocities recorded were: E. Sutton’s “22,” 1118yds per min, 1; E. Sutton’s “129,” 1117.5 yds per min., 2; A. Sharpe’s “Manbett," 1114 yds. per min., 3. Other starters were W. G. Pountney, 1113yds; J. E. Hopkinson, 1109 yds; C. Crabh and Son, 1108.6yds; W. Bushell and Sons, 1108yds; C. Mayes, 1102yds;II. Ashton, IlOlyds; R. Scott
