SOCIALIST MINISTER’S PROPOSAL. LONDON, October 23. The Daily Teegraph says: The British public will learn with amazement that the Socialist Government has addressed a note to Embassies and Legations abroad suggesting the curtailment of acts of remembrance at war memorials, including the cenotaph at Whitehall and the unknown warrior’s grave at Westminster Abbey.” The newspaper adds that the proposal first emanated from a junior Socialist Minister.
