GENEROUS BEQUESTS

£23,500 TO CHARITIES. BAPTIST CHURCH BENEFITS. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) NAPIER, Friday. Under the will of the late Mrs Amelia Mary Randall, of Taradale, who died last week, £23,500 is left to charitable objects. Most of the bequests are for various organisations in connection with the Baptist Church of New Zealand, the largest being £11,500 to the Baptist Union for special trusts. Of this sum £2500 will go to the New Zealand Baptist Annuity Fund, £IOOO to the Baptist Children’s Home at Manurewa, Auckland, £ISOO to the Napier Baptist Church Manse Fund, £IOOO to the Baptist Union Ministers’ Book Fund, £SOO to the Baptist Missionary Society, and £SOOO for the establishment of a Randall Students’ Fund, to be used in the maintenance and education of Students for the ministry in the Baptist Church of New Zealand or the Baptist Missionary Society.. A further amount of £4500 is bequeathed .to the Baptist Union for the erection of a new church in Napier, the site for which had already been given by the testator. The Baptist Union will also receive £SOOO, the income from which is to bo utilised in the maintenance of the Baptist Theological College at Remuera, Auckland. The residue of the estate will be placed “on trust for the establishment of the Baptist College, which is not to be theological, but for education on general lines. Other public bequests are as follows: Hawke’s Bay Children’s Home, £1000; Napier Young Men’s Christian Association, £500; Bethany Home, Napier, £500; Salvation Army, Napier, £250; Plunket Society, Napier. £150; New Zealand branch of the British and Foreign Bible Society, £IOO.
