FAREWELL PARTY

TO MISSES SCHERER. Mrs c. Wade, of Hinuera, was hostess at a very jolly .party in honour of Mfsses Evelyn and Irene Scherer, who are leaving for Europe this week. The drawing-room was decorated with scarlet ranunculus, and in the diningroom the supper table was bright with Iceland poppies. The hall was used for dancing, and a very enjoyable time was spent. Mrs Wade received her guests in a frock of shell-pink mousseline and was assisted by her daughter, Miss Biddy Wacle, who was in white taffeta. Miss Evelyn Scherer wore a smart frock of sea-green ripple ninon, and Miss Irene Scherer a pretty ankle-length frock of flowered satin beaute. Others present were Misses F. Scherer, Murray, and Una Hoffey; Messrs Blythe, W. Russell-Wood, Bruce Anderson, G. Brough, R. Hitchcock, Mclnnes and J. Rowntree.
