TEST FLIGHTS. VOYAGE TO CANADA. (Official Wireless.} RUGBY, May 21. The British airship RIOQ was taken from her shed at Cardington before, dawn to-day and an hour and a-half later was safely locked home to her mooring mast again. Major G. H. Scot! was in charge of the flight',' which was carried out in favourable weather with a light northerly wand which registered only four or five miles an hour. The airship left this evening for another trial flight, during which tests will be made of her new engines. This flight probably will last 12 or 14 hours. The passengers include the Undersecretary for Air,' Mr F. Montague. If the tests prove satisfactory RIOO will be ready for her flight to Canada. The exact date of her departure' will be determined by the weather conditions. At present the outlook over the Atlantic is not rgarded as favourable. LATER. SATISFACTORY TESTS. DEPARTURE FOR CANADA. POSTPONEMENT AGREED TO. (Official Wireless.) (Received May 23, 12.30 p.m.) RUGBY, May 22. The airship RIOO, which left Cardington last evening was' in the air throughout the night, and did not return- to her mooring ma-st until this afternoon. It was anticipated the vessel on the satisfactory completion of this flight, during which a series of tests have been carried out, would almost immediately sail for Canada. In response to a request of the Canadian Department -of Defence, however, her departure has been delayed. The Air Minister has been requested to arrange that RIOO may arrive in Canada after the close of the parliamentary session at the end of May so that Ministers and others may officially receive the airship on her arrival at Montreal.
