LOAN FOR INDIA.
£7,000,000 UNDERWRITTEN. LISTS QUICKLY CLOSED. (omcial Wireless.) RUGBY, May 20. The 'Government of India loan, whloh was underwritten yesterday, was offered for subscription to-day, and the lists were closed early this afternoon. The issue consists of £7,000,000 of 6 per cent- bonds, maturing 1983-35, and the price was £99. The proceeds of the issue twill be used mainly to provide funds for capital expenditure on railways, and the -balance will 'be employed for general purposes.
