ST. PATRICK’S COLLEGE.
IMPORTANT CEREMONY. WELLINGTON, Saturday. The foundation stone of the new St. Patrick's College at Silverstream, Upper Hutt, will be laid to-morrow by Archbishop Redwood, assisted by Archbishop O’Shea and prelates from Auckland and Dunedin. Old Boys will be present from all parts of New Zealand and Australia. Archbishop Redwood laid the foundation stone of the present college 46 years ago. It will be retained as a day school, as a large increase has .recently taken place in day scholars. The contract price of the building is £76,000, without the chapeL which will cost £13,000. A further large area has been secured for the grounds, which abut on the Hutt River, and have clumps of original totara and beach forest still standing.
