The other singles match was not finished owing to the failing light. In this Prenn (Germany) is leading Lee, 6—4, 7—9, 6—3. The Austin-Landmann match resolved itself into a contest between youth and staying power. Austin’s old c-omplaint—cramp—added to his difficulties. Showers interfered with both matches.
