CONFERENCE IN AUCKLAND. (By Telegraph—press Association.) AUCKLAND, Thursday. The Congregational Union of New Zealand began proceedings to-day. Rev. F. de Lisle- presiding. A point of interest in Hie Moderator’s report was the holding of -a huge International Conference in England this year. The appointment of delegates from New Zealand was- approved. Much satisfaction was expressed when it was reported that Rev. Lionel Fletcher had declined the secretaryship oi' ihc Christian Endeavour Union of Great Britain. A motion, proposed by Mr Fletcher, urging the cultivation of a spirit of peace and efforts to bring about a repeal of the compulsory military training system, was carried with one dissentient.
