ROWING.

THE HAMILTON CLUB. A SUCCESSFUL YEAR. THE ANNUAL MEETING. The annual meeting of the Hamilton Rowing Club was held last evening in the club’s pavilion, at which > in spite of adverse weather conditions, there was a good attendance of members. The annual report, which appeared in yesterday’s issue of the Waikato Times, was adopted. In commenting upon the report, the chairman complimented the club on its excellent record of the past year. It was an achievement of which they might be justly proud. It was fully evident that the organisation of the club was on the right lines.. Their record suggested that the Waikato River made good rowers, and it should be the object of the club to encourage the formation of other clubs along the river. He congratulated the ‘ Big Four," and remarked that it was fortunate that tlie club possessed such a promising number of junior members —a most encouraging position. He congratulated the club captain, the secretary, coach and committee on the splendid" result of their year’s activities. He concluded by referring briefly to the inadequacy of the present pavilion, and hoped that they would not lose sight of the necessity of starting a building fund with the object of providing in the future a pavilion which would be in keeping with their activities. It was resolved that in future the annual meeting of the club he held not later than October 15 each year, and that the financial year end on August 31. It was decided to cancel the practice of requesting new members to pay an entrance fee on joining.
