FAREWELL FUNCTION
RRI DE-TO-BE HONOURED. The residents of Melville assembled at the Melville school on Saturday •evening In honour of Miss Schofield, on the occasion of her approaching marriage. The evening, which was organised by Mrs Dawson and Mr W. Mann, was largely attended. Air Mann presented Miss Schofield on behalf of ’the residents, with a beautiful tea set and on behalf of the pupils of the school a pair of crystal vases. Miss Schofield responded. Items were given by the following:—Songs, Mrs Dawson, Miss Agnes Strong. Mr W. Allen, Mr A. Burton; also four little former pupils of Miss Schofield; Lambert (2) Kcppel and Dalbeth. Recitation by Mr W. Moore. Pianoforte solo, Mjss Alma Burton. Dancing continued until twelve. After the singing of Auld Lang Syne, an cnjovabla evening was brought to a close.
