CROQUET.
NGARUAWAHIA CLUB. A very pleasant time was spent on Saturday afternoon at the opening of the Ngaruawahia Croquet Club. A large number of club members and visiting players were present. The president of the Bowling Club welcomed the visiting ladies and wished them a pleasant afternoon’s play on the Ngaruawahia lawn. Mrs Fuller then played the first ball through the hoop, and the croquet green was declared open. Progressive and target croquet wore played, the winners of the competitions being—A, Mrs Hodgkinson (Whitiora); B, Mrs Mason • (Frankton) Target: Mrs Wicksall (Frauktonj; club, Mrs Hall (Horotiu).
