DESTRUCTIVE FIRE

SPEOTACULAR OUTBREAK. WAREHOUSE DESTROYED. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) DUNEDIN, Tuesday. A spectacular fire in the warehouse of Messrs A. E. Usherwood and Company, on the foreshore, this afternoon, resulted in several thousand pounds’ worth of damage to the building and stock. The premises arc used for the manufacture of a wool branding fluid, and on tlic top floor there .were three 40-gallon vats of fluid boiling. An unaccountable explosion occurred in one vat and set tire to the others. The building was covered in I lie United Office for £SOOO and the *took was insured in the same office.
