AT FRANKTON YARDS. PIG QUOTATIONS HARDEN. AUCTIONEERS’ REPORTS. There was a heavy yarding of beef, a full yarding of fat sheep, and a large yarding of pigs at the weekly sale at the Franklon yards yesterday. The large attendance created spirited bidding and competition was keen. Beef quotations were on a par with the previous week’s rates and sheep-, prices were also very much the same 'though all pig quotations showed a decided rise. The Fanners' Auctioneering Company, Lid., report: At tile weekly stock market in the Frankton \ards yesterday a good yarding of alt classes of cattle, sheep and pigs came forward. Beef showed a slight decline on previous quotations, sheep being easier, and pigs sold under keen competition throughout. Quotations: Prime heavy steers, £l6 5s to £l7 l~s 6d; medium, £l4 5s to £ls 10s; light, £l2 to £l3 15s; heavy fat cows, £lO 15s to £l2 17s Od; prime heifers,. £lO 10s to £l2 cows, £9 to £lO ss; light fat cows, ”£7 to £8 15s; forward-conditioned cows, £6 to £7 ss; store cows, £3 15s to £5 ss; boners, £2 5s to £3; yearling Jersey heifers, £5 15s to £6 17s; Jersey cross heifers, £4 10s to £5 ss; yearling Jersey bulls, £4 to £7. Messrs Dalgety and Company, Ltd., report having held their weekly sale at Frankton Saleyards yesterday. Beef came forward in large numbers, and sold at equal to late rates. There was a heavy yarding of store cattle, a full yarding of fat sheep, and a fair yarding of store sheep. Fat cows, £lO 17s 6d to £ll 17s; lighter sorts, £8 17s Gd to £9 12s Gd; light fat heifers, £8 10s to £lO 10s; 30 store cows, £7 ss; 28 do., £6 15s; 32 do., £6; light store cows, £5 7s Gd to £7 2s Gd, cows and calves, £6 to £6 ss; empty heifers, £4 17s to £6 Is. Sheep came forward in large numbers, and were slightly easier than last week. Fat shorn wethers, 28s to £i 9s 2d; lighter sorts, 25s to 27s Gd; fat woolly wethers, 35s Gd to 37s Gd; fat woolly ewes, 27s 3d; fat shorn ewes, 2is; fat hoggets 27s 3d; lighter sorts, 245; freshconditioned shorn wethers, 245; hoggets, 20s to 245. There was a large yarding of pigs, which sold at slightly increased prices.

The New Zealand 1,0011 and 'Mercantile Agency Company, Limited, Hamilton, report:—At Hamilton sale yesterday we had an average yarding of beef. Prime cattle maintained late values, but pric-es were easier for second quality. A fair entry of store cattle came forward, there being little demand for steers and store cows, but vearling Jersey heifers met with a ready sale. Fat sheep, which were penned in full supply, showed a decided drop in values. Fat and store pigs sold under strong competition at late rates. We quote:—Fat bullocks, £l7 15s; prime fat cows and heifers, £ll 7s Gd to £l2 15s; light, £9 to £9 15s; plain fat cows, £6 10s to £7 ss; cows in fresh condition, £5 12s 6d to £6 12s 6d; boner cows, £4 5s to £4 15s; yearling Jersey heifers, £6 14s; springing heifers, £ll 10s to £l2; dairy cows, £lO to £l2; fat wethers, in wool, £1 16s Gd to £1 18s; shorn, £1 8s to £1 9s sd; woolly hoggets, £1 4s 9d.
