HAMILTON TENNIS CLUB.

MEETING OF EXECUTIVE. COURTS OPEN' ON SATURDAY. A meeting of the executive of the Hamilton Tennis Club was held last night. Mr R. I). McFarland, president, occupied the chair. Mr 0. Stevenson, secretary of (he club, tendered his resignation, pointing out that he had not the time to devote to the duties of the office. On the motion of Mr McCracken an honorary membership of the club for (he coming year was granted Mr Stevenson, as a slight recognition of the valuable services he had rendered.. With regard to the appointment of a new secretary, it was generally considered the office should be a paid 1 one, and it was decided to grant an jjpnorarium of £lO and a free membership to future secretaries. It was decided to again lease the lop live courts to St. George's Club and the Dairy Club. The courts will open on Saturday next. It was decided to add the competition entrance fee to the annual subscriptions in all cases. The damage to the courts from their use by novice players from the schools was remarked upon by the president, who observed that while it was, of course, desirable to en-. courage junior players, it was doubtful if the sdnall fee received of £5 a year compensated the club for the wear and tear of the courts. After a short discussion it was decided to allow last year’s arrange-, ment to stand.
