RETURNED SOLDIERS.
1 WAIKATO ASSOCIATION. 1 \ S MEETING OF THE EXECUTIVE. The executive of the Waikato Returned Soldiers' Association met last night. Mr J. N. Baxter was in the chair, and there were also present:—■ Messrs Greene, Challiner, CranwelL Pile, Ward and Norris. it was pointed out by a member that there were still displayed in some of the smaller railway stations posters warning Imperial soldiers that they must apply for pensions within seven years of their discharge. These were rather misleading, as the Imperial Government now entertained.applications for pensions outside the seven years' limit. A number of cases of applications for pensions and other forms of relief were considered. The Association had been successful in obtaining relief in some cases. In others a final decision had not as yet been received
