A resident of Invercargill has for some lime past been missing his morning paper (says the Southland Times). Naturally his first suspicions centred on the runner, and several complaints were made to the Times office. Still the paper was occasionally missing. The resident then decided to investigate the matter most carefully. The other morning he got out of bed at 5.45 and saw the runner duly place the paper in the tin. He removed the paper, putting an earlier issue in its place. When he examined the tin at 7 a.m. the paper was gone. He is now wondering who the thief is.
