ADDINGTON MARKETS. A small entry of fat cattle resulted in a sharp advance at Addington. Prime heavv fat sheep sold at a slight advance, but lighter sorts were cheaper. The demand for store sheep was satisfactory. . „ , The yarding of fat cattle totalled 358 head. Generally speaking, quality was satisfactory, there being a creditable showing of well-flnished steers. The sale opened keenly and continued so throughout. Good steers were up by 35s to 40s a head, medium quality beef by 30s and indifferent by 20s to 25s Prices per 1001 b were: Good steer beef 41s 6d to 445, extra good to 465, prime heifer beef 40s to 435, medium quality steer 38s to 41s, heavy weight steer 36s Od to 40s, best cow 36s to 395, medium 33s to 355, and -ough down to 27s Gd. There was a large entry of fat sheep, totalling twelve and a half races. Though'the proportion of light ewes was somewhat heavy it was, on the whole a- good quality entry. Prime heavy sheep met with good competition and sold slightly better. On the other hand, the sale of lighter sheep was affected by the fact that the export season is over. Light ewes eased by Is to Is 6d a head. Still, taken all round, it was a very satisfactory sale. There was a small entry of store sheep, consisting mainly of hoggets. YVelher hoggets carrying good fleeces sold well at a rise of from Gd to Is a head. Other classes of hoggets were unchanged, and adult sheep sold firmly at late rates. Good class wethers were sought after. A few pens of cows comprised the entrv of store cattle. They sold at pi-ices ranging from £2 15s to £5 13s Gd. Forty-six dairy cattle were penned; there was-little interest in the sale and another slight easing in values was recorded. The entry of vealers was not nearly equal to requirements, and all lots sold well under keen competition. A rnedium-sized entry of fat pigs met with fair competition. Baconers were slightly better than they were last week, while porkers were Arm at late rates. There was a large entry of store pigs, and considering the number forward they sold well. Following are ranges of values: — Fat Cattle. —Extra prime heavy steers to £2l 2s Gd, prime £l7 10s to £2O, medium-weight £ls 10s to £l7, ordinary quality £l2 to £ls, light £8 10s to £ll 10s; extra prime heifers to £ls 7s Gd, prime £l2 10s to £ll, medium £lO to £l2, light £6 10s to £',) 10s; extra prime cows to £IG 2s Gil prime £ll to £l3 ss, ordinary £8 lOh to £lO 15s, aged £5 10s to £8 ss. Dairy Cattle —Best second, third and fourth carvers £8 10s to £lO 15s, medium £6 10s to £B, inferior £4 to £6, heifers £4 to £B, cows in proilt £3 to £5 10s.

Vealers—Twelve to eighteen-month sorts to £9 6s, good vealers £7 5s to £B, medium £4 10s to £6 15s, inferior £2 to £3 10s, calves 20s to 355. Fat Sheep—Extra prime wethers to 51s id, prime heavy 42s Gd to 4 ss, prime 39s to 425, medium 34s to 38s, light 28s to 335; extra prime ewes to 45s lOd, prime 34s 6d to 395, medium 30s to 345, light 27s to 295, aged 22s to 265, good hoggets 30s to 36s 4d. Store Sheep—Extra good ewe hoggets 30s to 325, good halfbred 23s to 26s 3d, good crossbred wether hoggets 24s to 26s 6d, medium 2is to 235, backward and inferior 17s to 19s 6d, medium four, six and eight-tooth halfbred ewes 2Cs 6d to 29s 6d, backward 17s to 19s Gd, medium four, six, and eight-tooth halfbred ewes 2Gs Gd to 29s Gd, backward to 25s 6d, medium four, six and eight-tooth three-quarter bred ewes to 28s, aged and inferior ewes 16s to 18s, best four, six, and eight-tooth crossbred wethers to 33s /id, good 30s to 325. Pigs—Choppers £1 15s to £7 18s 6d, light baconers £3 Gs to £4, heavy £4 5s to £4 12s Gd; average price per lb, 6d to 6Jd; light porkers 37s to 00s, heavy 52s to 6is 6d; average price per lb, 7id to 8d; weaners 13s to 17s, small stores 16s to 225, medium to good 23s to 345, extra large to 38s 6d.
