REACHES COMMITTEE STAGE.

BANKER'S EXPERT ADVICE

WELLINGTON, Thursday. The National Industrial Conference has reached the committee stages.

The main conference met this morning and later adjourned sine die in order to allow various committees to meet. Sub-committees were set up. *

It is the opinion of the Business Committee that the several committees and sub-committees should refrain from calling evidence except where, in the opinion of the . committee, it is essential to have some expert evidence to elucidate a specific matter under discussion.

Both sides agreed that Mr W. P. Williams, representing the Associated Banks, should attend the sittings of the Economic and Finance Committee, which would be glad of his assistance and advice.
