JERSEY, BREEDERS.

lIMPORTANT CONFERENCE.

\ * SCHEME OF CLASSIFICATION

PALMERSTON N., Thursday.

An important conference of delegates of Jersey breeders’ clubs of New Zealand was held to-day, when a scheme of classifying cows according to type was approved. The meeting considered there were many advantages to be gained by being able to form a reasonably correct opinion of an animal’s value in respect to type. The classifications approved were, "highly commended,” “oommended,” and “those not wanted.”

It was stated that if the classification were well , done, type degress would be as stable as production records, and would carry equal weight. A similar’scheme has been operating in Jersey Island for years.
