WOODLANDS DRAINAGE.

REVIVAL OF INTEREST. CONFERENCE OF DELEGATES. An important conference of Drainage Board delegates took place yesterday. This would seem do indicate that there is the possibility within a short time of some measure of coordination, which will bring widespread results to the district as a whole. The local authorities represented were Waikato County Council, Hillside Drainage Board, Eureka Drainage Board, and Woodlands Drainage Board. Mr W. Newell, chairman of Waikato County Council, presided. It will be recollected that some three years ago a comprehensive report, prepared by Government officers, indicated that the general trend of the clay level on the Woodlands swamp was northward. The delegates yesterday viewed portion of the .country lying along the railway line between Ruakura and Eureka stations, and it is anticipated ■that definite proposals of a beneficial nature will result.
