LADIES' GOLF.
CLUB OPENING. The Ladies Golf Club had a most successful day yesterday for the opening of the season. A large crowd attended and some. good rounds were played. The winners of the Canadian foursomes, Mrs Nolan and Mrs Allen (Cambridge) and Mrs Joll and Mrs Hockin (Hamilton) tied, with a score of 48 for the 12 holes. They spun to decide the prizewinners. The Hamilton players winning the toss and being presented with a lovely rose bowl and vase, by' the' president, Mrs Melville Bell. Among many players and visitors present I noticed Mesdames Melville Bell, H. C. Ross, N. Johnston, Pountney, Hume, P. Stewart, Strang, Matthews, Maunder.
