LadW Cooper is visiting Hamilton and is thekguest of her . daughter Mrs Magnus Johnson, River Road.

Mr W. Kirby, of Arapuni, arrived in Auckland on Saturday morning last to meet Mrs Kirby and their son, who arrived by the Remuera from England on Sunday night. They motored to Arapuni on Tuesday.

Mrs A. Evans, late of Cambridge, left Auckland on Monday last by the R.M.S. Aorangi for Sydney, where she will make an extended stay.

Mrs H. Kerr, well-known in Cambridge as one time hostess of the Central and Masonic Hotels, is visiting the district along with her daughter, Mrs McNeish. They are staying at the Central Hotel.

Mrs R. Nelson left Hamilton by the Rotorua express yesterday, for Gisborne.

Mrs Nat Madison and Mrs Maurice Moscovitch arrived in New Zealand by the Marama, on Tuesday last.

Mrs Douglas Hay is in Hamilton for a few days as the guest of Mrs Blair White. She will be returning to Auckland next week. .

Mrs Gardner and Miss Tui Gardner; of Gisborne, who have been in Auckland for a few days, returned to Hamilton last night, and are the guests of Mrs A. Joseph.

Miss Erina Ward returned at the beginning of the week from a six weeks visit to Fielding and Palmerston North.

Mrs R. Speake and Miss Alice Speake, left Cambridge* eajly Monday morning for Hastings, on a motor trip. They will visit various parts of Hawke's Bay, Taranaki, and other districts while on holiday.

Mrs George Cox, of Hamilton, will leave Auckland by the s.s. Marama on Friday afternoon for Sydney, en route for Western Australia. Later on she will proceed to England for a holiday, and expects to be away for about 12 months. • * * *•, Mile. d'Annam, whose father, IlarnNghi, was formerly King of Annam, in Indo-China, and is now living in exile in Algiers, * has completed a 3year course at the .Agricultural Institute at Paris and triumphantly headed the lists. It is the first time in the history of the institute that a woman has held the first place. She beat a large class of men. * * * * A nineteen-year-old girl, Miss Vera Harper, recently roller-skated from Westminster to Brighton (Eng.), a distance of 52 miles, in 6 hours 41 minutes. She is reported to be the first girl to accomplish the feat.
