NEW PARISH.

FOR NGARUAWAHIA. LOCAL VESTRY APPROVES. The Anglican community of Ngaruawahia will shortly have a church and vicar of its own as the result of a resolution carried at a largelyattended meeting of parishioners this week.

The present Huntly-Ngaruawahia parish is considered too extensive, and frequent efforts have been made to create separate parishes. Bishop Cherrington stated to-day that providing the Taupiri and Orini districts were included in the new parish the vestry was wholly in favbur of the proposal. His Lordship added that the matter nas still to come before the central vestry before finality will be reached.
