From the Hautu prison farm at Tokaanu a line of 42 steers and a truck of 65 extra heavy prime lambs were put under the hammer at Westfield stock sale yesterday. The steers sold at from £ll 10s to £l6 7s 6d, the average price being £l4s Is. Of the lambs, 51 realised £2 4s each, the average for the whole consignment being £2 2s Od. It is claimed that this is a record price for any conof such a number.
