HENDERSON'S DEATH.

SEARCHERS ALSO IN PERIL.

(By Telegraph—Press Association.) CHRISTCHURCH, Thursday. At the inquest on Andrew Neil Henderson, Who was accidentally shot at a mountain camp in Lee's Valley, and who died while his ■companion was away bringing help, the coroner returned a verdict of accidental death by shooting. Constable Robertson, describing the finding of the body, said his party had to carry it on a stretcher over a 5000 ft mountain from the camp where the fatality occurred. The constable's boots gave out in climbing over the rough country, and he had to use the boots of the dead man. The condition of the party when it arrived in Oxford has been described as pitiful. Dr. L. D. Burnett and Messrs C. Bassett and E. 11. Buc-kridge, 'three of the party who set out on Monday afternoon to bring in the body of Andrew Neil Henderson from the back country at Lee's Valley, have so far not returned, and fears arc entertained of their safety, as the country is exceedingly rough, and the men had few provisions.

RESCUERS SAFE.

(By Telegraph—Press Association.) CHRISTCHURCH, Thursday. A message received from Oxford at noon states that the three men who had been missing in Lee's Valley since Monday have returned in good health, although fatigued.
