The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company, Limited, reports:—Beef was penned in more than average numbers. Competition was keen, and values advanced is 6d to 2s per 1001 b., this advance being more noticeable for choice and prime ox. A line of extra heavy prime lambs, fattened at Hautu Prison Farm, realised £2 4s each. The whole truck of 05 lambs averaged £2 2s 9d, being purChased by the Auckland Meat Company. This is a record price for any consignment of such a number, and is without doubt the best line ever offered at Westfleld. Store pigs were penned in average numbers, and values advanced on late quotations. Large stores made £1 lGs to £2 ss; slips, £1 5s to £1 lis; weaners, 4s to 12s. Calves were penned in average numbers, and were dull of sale, values being easier on late quotations. Runners made £3 5s to £4 10s; heavy vealers, £4 4s to £5; medium, £3 10s lo £4 2s; light, £2 JSs to £3 8s; smaller, £2 8s lo £2 lGs; small and fresh dropped, 5s lo £2 is; rough calves, 7s to 15s.

Dalgety and Company, Limited, report:—Beef: There was a very heavy yarding of both cow and ox beef. Ox beef was llrrn at late rales, but cows and heifers were inclined to ease. A line of bullocks from Sommerville's Estate, Okoroire, sold to £l-3 2s Gd, and averaged £l3 -is Gd. We quote: —Extra choice ox, 35s per 1001 b; choice and prime, 32s to 345; just kiJlable 28s to 3is; prime young cow and heifer beef, 27s to 295; just killable, 24s to 265. Sheep: There was an average yarding, with little or no change in values. A consignment of prime wethers, on account of Mr W. Johnstone, Puketutu, sold to £1 15s 3d, and averaged £1 14s. Calves: A fair yarding, which sold under fair competition, with little or no change in values. Runners, £3 7s lo £5 ss; heavy vealcrs, £3 10s to £4 3s; mcdiuin £3 to £3 ss; light, £2 to £2 J ss;'rough, £1 ss. Pigs: A good yarding, which sold under keen competition at late rales. STOCK SALE. The Farmers' Co-operative Auctioneering Company report having held their usual llikulaia Stock Sale on Wednesday, 28th inst., when a good yarding of beef came forward.
