(By Telegraph —Press Association.) HASTINGS, Wednesday. Four charges, viz., theft of a car valued at £2OO, the property of Geoffrey (Jroves Speedy, at Waipukuraii. on March 17, to unlawfully converting the same to his own use, a car valued at £2OO, the property of Edwin Turfrey, of "Waipawa, and being drunk while, in charge of this ear at Waipawa, were preferred against Hirini Tihemi. a young Maori, in the Magistrate's Court. On application of the police the second charge was withdrawn. Accused was sentenced to two years' reformative detention on the charge of theft. On the other counts he was ordered to come up for sentence if called upon.
