OBITUARY.

MR. J. M. CASSIE. (By Telegrapii—Press Association.) AUCKLAND, Saturday. The" death occurred at the hospital on Thursday of Joseph Morrison Cassie, who was chief engineer of the Chelsea Sugar refinery, from, tetanus, the result of an injury on March 16, when he was thrown from a gig through the horse failing. Ho sustained deep cuts on the left elbow and knee.

• MRS. G.'lW. WYNYARD. Mrs G.' M. Wynyard, whose death is announced at- the age 'of 84 years, at One Tree Hill, had been associated with the history of the Auckland province from the earliest days. She was married.in 1864 to Mr Robert McDonald Wynyard, youngest son of Major-General H. 'H. Wynyard, C. 8., of the 58th Regiment, who commanded the New Zealand Forces from 1845 to 'IBSB, and-who was acting-Govern-nor' for three of those years, until the arrival of Colonel Gore Brown. She had resided for 60 years in New Zealand, the whole period of which was spent in the Auckland province. She leaves behind a family of four, which, comprises Messrs B. 11. and M. H. Wynyard,, of Auckland, J. G. Wynyard, of Te Awamutu, and one daughter, Miss. Wynyard.
