INSTRUCTION FOR CHILDREN. CONFERENCE IN WELLINGTON. SOME RECOMMENDATIONS.. By Telegraph.—Press Association. WELLINGTON, Thursday. "What scheme can be devised for giving proper instruction in sex matters by suitable individuals to school children, and who are suitable individuals for the work?" was the difficult problem considered at a conference this morning between representatives of the White Cross League and the Minister of'Education (Hon C. J. Parr) and the Minister of Health (Hon. Dr. Pomarc) and Dr. Ada Paterson. 'Over an hour was spent in"discussing it, and it was agreed that instruction should be given in teachers' training colleges lo lit students for the work of imparting advice if. they felt: this lo be their duly in after years; that consideration should be given to the question of obtaining the services' of one or two special officers lo instruct children on the lines of the scheme in operation in Tasmania; that a suitable lecturette should be prepared and circulated amongst the headmasters; that high school boards should be invited lo nominate representatives to a conference on the subject; and that a book called "The Cradle Ship," dealing with certain aspects of problems of life, should be placed in all school libraries.
It was also decided that the two Ministers' present should confer with the Minister of Defence with a view to securing the interest and co-opera-tion of the Defence Department in giving instruction to "senior cadets.
