A GENUINE MUMMY.
A RELIC OF OTHER DAYS. In a large exhibition such as the Waikato Winter Show there are many attractions flv visitors, something to interest ever,? section of the community. Many are novel, others amusing, and gome educational, and in the latter class the exhibit, of a mummified woman can surely be included. This rarity was discovered in a cave on a farm owned by a Mr Smith at Tangiferoria, some 14 miles from Whangarei. It is believed to be one of the "Moriori tribe" which were inhabitants of New Zealand before the Maoris. The mummy is perfect in every detail, even to the finger and toe nails, and every part of Ihe body can be fully examined. Doctors and scientists who have had the opportunity of viewing this relic of the olden days state that the anatomical construction of the body confirms the opinion thai it is the remains of a fully matured female. An interesting lecture is given at each session, and visitors to the Show should not fail to view this unusual exhibit. The stand is situated in the amusement section, just through the door from the Ruakura Farm stand. 726
