PERSONAL.

Mr E. Goodwin, of Hamilton, left for the South by Ist night's express. Mr W. Bloonxfield, of the Observer, Auckland, is at the Waikato Hotel. 'Mr A.. W. Bankhart, of Auckland, and Mr MeGowan, of Wellington, are visitors to Hamilton.

Mr William Mollison, leading man of ih e Gertrude Elliott Dramatic Company, is at the Hamilton Hotel.

Lady Forbes-Robertson (Miss Gertrude Elliott) and her daughter, arrived from Auckland to-day, and are at, the Hamilton Hotel.

Mr E. C. Day is leaving on Friday for a holiday trip to Australia. Mr Day expects to return to Hamilton towards the end of January.

Mr George Matheson, the wellknown theatrical manager, is in Hamilton with the Gertrude Elliott Dramatic Company.

Amongst the guests at the Grand Central are Messrs Geo. Foster, Shannon, Messenger and Daw, all of Auckland.

Mr T. R. Overton, engineer to the HoroWheiiua Power Board, who has been on a visit to Waikato, will return to Levin by this evening's express.

At a meeting of the Auckland Presbytery yesterday congratulations were extended to the Rev. Robert Sonierville, who has completed 44 years' service as clerk of the Presbytery. The moderator and several members spoke, in eulog-hst-ie terms of flic work of Mr Sommerville.

Prior to their departure on a trip to England, Mr W. Coltman, president and Mr G. W. Hutchison, secretary of the Auckland Automobile Association, wero entertained by 'the council of the association at dinner at the Grand Hotel. Mr J. A. Warnock, who presided at the function, paid a tribute to the fine qualities of the guests as citizens and to their untiring efforts in connection with the affairs of the association.
