SKULL CAPS AND MENINGITIS.
(To the Editor.)
Sir, —One of Auckland's leading doctors informed me that infantile paralysis is frequently caused by the exposure of the head and neck to the sun. At the present time adults are. changing their clothing and head coverings to obtain suitable protection during the hot weather. Owing .to a silly fashion, worse than "lighl-lac-
ing," the High School boys are compelled to face a very serious danger b> wearing the small cap through the hottest weather. It is time that someone in authority showed real interest in the uniform of the boys by introducing suitable hats to suit the weather and possibly save many from sickness and worse.—l am, etc.,
