VISIT TO CAMBRIDGE.

At Monday’s meeting of the Cambridge Borough Council the Mayor (Mr S. Lewis) read the telegram he had received from Captain Curtis in connection with the forthcoming visit of Their Excellencies, the GovernorGeneral and Lady Jellicoe, to Cambridge on May Ist, and stated that he had replied to Captain Curtis that the Council’s suggested programme would he submitted to him after it had been decided upon at the Council meeting. The Mayor proposed that the ViceRegal party he conveyed to the band rotunda in the Domain, and be received there by the Mayor and Councillors, the chairman and members of the Domain Board, and others, and then return to tlie Town Hall to partake of afternoon tea. He thought a meeting of ladies should be held on Thursday lo make necessary arrangements. After several councillors had spoken in connection with the matter, Cr. Wilkinson moved that the programme as proposed by the Mayor be adopted. This was seconded by Cr. Bell and carried.

It was also decided that a meeting' of ladies be held.
