CAR AND SHED BURNED
FIRE AT HAMILTON EAST. While Mr A. Dunne, engineer, was starting a large flve-seater Cadillac in the motor shed at his house, in Albert street, Hamilton East, this morning, it back-fired, ami was instantly a mass of flame, and before the Brigade could arrive the car and shed were completely destroyed. The car was the property of Mr James Shannon, land agent, formerly of this town, but now a resident of Auckland, and was insured. The shed was not covered. Mr Dunne himself escaped injury. The unfortunate, had its lucky side. Mr Dunne is accustomed, when starting his car each morning, to place, his little daughter on the front seat. This morning, however, as the child readied the shed door, she suddenly ran back. Had she occupied her accustomed place in the car she would .assuredly have either been burned or sustained shock.
