KILLING OF HAYTIANS

AMERICAN MARINES CHARGED. (Australian and N.Z. Cable Assn.) NEW YORK, October 14. The Navy Department has issued confidential correspondence regarding the killing of Haytian natives last year. Major-General Barnett, ex-Com-mandant of the United Slates marines, reported that at the court-martial the evidence showed that there had been indiscriminate killing of natives by American marines for some time. General Barnett stated that some of the marines were sadly lacking in a sense of right and justice, and stringent, orders were issued to prevent the repetition of abuses. The American newspapers are amazed thai the report has been kept secret so long.
