FAMINE IN CHINA
APPALLING IN ITS EXTENT. MILLIONS DOOMED TO PERISH. IMMEDIATE HELP NEEDED. (United Service.) Received October 12, 5.5 p.m. PEKIN, October 11. The Chinese famine is appalling. The extreme cold will soon he accentuating' Hie sufferings, and if no relief for the starved is forthcoming quickly millions will perish. In any case millions cannot now be saved.
