THE BOOTH MISSION
OPENED IN HAMILTON. Mr Herbert Booth, youngest son of Hie late General Booth, and a wellknown evangelist, commenced an elevri days' mission in the Town Hall, Hamilton, last, night. The attendance waencouragingly large, and the series of services was inaugurated with much earnestness. Mr Booth, who is a forceful and con vincing speaker, outlined the object of the mission and the methods to be adopted to bring about the best results. He was eager to bring a blessing to tho people of Hamilton, and to create a spiritual fervour among Christians, which would have its effect, upon the life of the community. This could be brought about by prayer, praise, preaching and persuasion. The people were eager for the Gospel. The old simple hymns were sun? with much heartiness by the congregation, and Mr Newman rendered a solo vi ry feelingly. The mission will be continued lo-n-ghl in the Town Hall. To-morrow, Mr Booth will preach in the Methodist Church in the morning, and in the lung's Theatre in the evening, and In ll.e afternoon wih give his illustrated lecture, "Ecce Homo," in the King's Theatre.
