ALIENS IN BRITAIN
RESTRICTIVE LEGISLATION. (Press Assn.— Imperial News Service.) LONDON. May 12. The Aliens Naturalisation Rill! which is being- introduced in the House of Lords, is published. Inter alia the measure provided thai no alien may be appointed to the civil service, or as master, chief officer or chief engineer of a British merchant vessel registered in the United Kingdom, exceptions being those who performed faithful service in the war. Aliens are also debarred from holding pilotage certificates, exceptions being made in the case 0 f French nationals using the ports of Xewhaven and Grimsby. Special clauses have been inserter), providing special powers of nationalisation for British possessions subject (0 a proviso in the case of Dominions that the measure be adopted by Ihe legislatures of the Dominion.
