Borough Elections. VOTE FOR FARRELL! VOTE FOR FARRELL. VOTE FOR FARRELL. rp.o THE BURGESSES OF HAMII*. A TON : _ At the request of a largo numbor of ratepayers, and under nomination from Messrs J. A. Young, M.P., (Mamber for Waikato), George Parr (President of the Hamilton Chamber () f Commerce), .John McKinnon (late Deputy Mayor), and J''. C. Hand (a prominent business man), I am offering myself for election. as a Councillor. Briefly my policy is:— Houses for workers. Better sanitary servicesBetter lighting and power facilities. An augumented water supply. Improvements I" surburban roads and footpaths. A ji™> rl main thoroughfare (probably of concrete), from Hamilton East to (■Yankton. fn fact my policy is purely one of progress—to do what 1 can to help the Borough to advance—to see that when we. raise big loans (and it must be admitted that bis loans are necessary), that the people who pay the rates get quid pro quo in public services for the money spent. The Borough is ripe for an embarkation on a distinctly forward policy, and should you favour me with your votes, T will do my Utmost to steer the municipal craft on a wise and economical course. Obiedientlv Yours. 344 FRANK FARRELL. NOT A BEAR GARDEN —But— A COUNCIL OF BUSINESS > MEN WHAT WE WANT. '• VOTE FOR FARRELL! VOTE FOR FARRELL! VOTE FOR FARRELL! VOTE FOR FARRELL! VOTE FOR FARRELL! VOTE FOR FARRELL! LET US GET OFT OF 1 THE PRESENT RUT. LET US DROP THIS PETTY STRIFE. LET US SETTLE OUR PERSONAL DIFFERENCES OUTSIDE AND NOT IN THE COUNCIL. LET US RESTART WITH A NEW FIELD. VOTE FOR FARRELL! THE PROGRESSIVE CANDIDATE, THOMAS JOHNSON. TO THE ELECTORS OF HAMILTON,-

At the request of a large and influential number of electors of the Borough, I have derided to offer myself as a candidate at the forthcoming byelection. ] have been a resident of the district for over 13 years, during which period I have had considerable experience in serving the public. For six years Chairman Frankton School Committee; President Waikato School Committees' Association; 2 years Frankton Drainage Board. I was elected a member of the Frankton Town Board in 1910, and again in 1912.- In 1913 we were created a Borough Council. During my term of three years (after which I did not seek re-cledtion) there was installed the Electric Lighting system, which fo" some years, was a sound paying proposition. Miles of footpaths were, formed and asphalted and a water supply inaugurated. I am in favour of a full supply of Electricity for power and lighting on the most scientific and economical basis, also the numbering of the houses and business premies in the whole of the borough. The Drainage Scheme is a matter of urgent necessity and should be carried out as rapidly as possible. The Housing question should be taken in hand at. once. This is not an individual question and needs the support of the whole Council, to carry it to a successful issue. The noxious weeds are a menace and disgrace to our town, and shoitfd not be tolerated in such a progressive district. It is desirable that a by-law be passed regulating the speed of motor vehicles in the Borough, and this would have my support. If you honour me by electing me as one of your representatives I would do my best for the community as a whole. I have been nominated by the following gentlemen:— H. VALDEII A. E. MANNING. J. U. I<'()\V. J. T. BROWNE. J. A. YOUNG. J. JEBSON. C Ji. SPEIGHT J. A. .MILNE. I am, Yours faithfuly, 308 THOMAS JOHNSON. Vole For ALEX. DUNNE, LICITS YOLTt SUPPORT AT THE POLL OX WEDNESDAY HE STANDS AND SOUND ITRATION, * AND THE AND NO PAH Vote FOR ALEX DUNNE,, The People's Candidate. TO THE ELECTORS OF HAMILTON. \ ETER numerous requests, J have -*- decided to offer myself as ;i candidate ;ii t!i(' forthcoming election. If you should return me you ran rest assured (hat 1 will do my best.to further the Borough interests in a progressive and businesslike manner.—Yours faithfully, 239 HAROLD B.
