At Ihe last mrcling of Iho Morrinsvillo Town Board Messrs Warner, M •- Alpine and McGregor wore appointed a committee to represent Hie Board in con.jnnelion with the Farmers’ Union and Hie Cliamlier of Commerce regarding the erection of a war memorial in Morrinsvillc. Water Supply. A commencement was made on Monday on the water supply scheme works. Orders have been given for the pipes. Pastimes. The Morrinsvillc Union competition football matches started on Saturday. Wailoa and M-ang,denarii drew with a score of three points each; Terriers easily defeated Tanhei by 20 to 0; and Kereone beat City by 12 to 3 after a game, in which, the scores do not represent the evenness of llic sides. The ladies’ competition, medal play, on the Morrinsvillc golf links on Falurday, was won hy Mrs Pellil with a nelt score of 75. ROTO-O-RftNGI. fl Farewell Function. "On Friday evening Iho residents of Roto-o-Bangi assembled at Mr W. T. Barry’s residence to bid farewell to Air G. Foskelt, who Is about to leave on a trip to the Old Country. Mr Dench, snr., spoke of Air Foskell’s good qualities, and the loss his leaving would mean to the district and Dairy Company I Air Foskelt, being manager-of the company’s factory at Uoto-o-Rangi). The three ladies who had been entrusted with 11 1 p arrangements in connection with a presentation, presented Mr Foskelt with a gentleman’s silvermounted companion, silver shaving outfil and travelling rug. Mr Foskelt, amidst loud cheers, thanked Ids many friends for their kindness to him. -Musical items were given by several friends during the evening and a. dainty supper was handed round, after which all joined hands and sang “Auld Rang Sync.” The door Was then cleared and dancing was indulged in until Die early hours, excellent music being provided by Aiiss At. Barry (piano) and ,Mr W. Barry (areordeon).
