(To the Editor.) Sir, —In your issue of Tuesday I notice a inter from Mr Atkinson complaining of thp mad careering- of two motor fiends who started from Hamilton on Saturday afternoon, going in the direction of Te Rapa. I was motor cycling

in the direction of Tc Rapa and was overtaken by these, “hogs” who simply ran me off the road. The speed they attained between the new race course grounds and the To Itapa school would be at-least (50 miles per hour. You will recognise Ihc danger to the general public of motor cars endeavouring to pass each other al Ibis speed. I do not know it (here is a limit in the W-aipa county, hui if nut, it is surely time that conned ilors took the matter up. 1 had no chance of reading their numbers owing to their excessive speed, but if there is a speed limit in the county these ‘‘road hogs” shftuld be brought to hook. 11 should not be af very difficult, matter for the local police to. trace them. I know irf | several people who ; r> afraid lo drive into town owing lo the recklessness of many car drivers. I have a suggestion In make which 1 believe would be effective if put into practice. By laws regarding car traffic should he framed so that any motor driver who dnliber•alcly disobeys them would he prohibited from driving foe a period according to Hie seriousness of the offence.
